Green is the colour of nature, the colour of spring and summer. It is restful on the eye and calming to the soul. I think it must have inspired more poets and authors than any other colour. And there are almost as many shades of green in our world as there are writers to describe them. Or indeed photographers to try to capture and preserve their beauty!

I’m sharing these for Sandy’s Friendly Friday ‘Green’ challenge. I’d rather be away in Sofia and too busy seeing the sights to blog, but thanks to Covid at least I have the consolation of being able to join in some of the weekend’s challenges!

      Thanks so much Siobhan 😊 That top photo is of a small stream in the Hoh Rainforest, quite near the Visitor Centre if I remember rightly – we had to cross it to start our walk.

    For me, green is definitely synonymous with nature. And I think the UK is the best place to seek for green landscapes … look at that lovely picture in Norfolk (oh, and after our visit to New Zealand – that must be a close second for green countries)! I’m also surprised to see how green Costa Rica is.
    Oh, and I hope you are much better now … take good care of yourself.

      The UK is wonderful for green landscapes, yes, but it isn’t alone in that 🙂 Costa Rica is incredibly green – much of it is rainforest or cloud forest. I haven’t been to New Zealand but I have seen enough photos to know that you are right about its greenness too.
      Thanks for asking after me. I’m still coughing and still testing positive (as of yesterday) but not feeling too bad. I seem to have got off lightly, thanks probably to my three doses of the vaccine 🙂

      Haha yes – and referees always wore black (never shocking pink!!), and players didn’t have their names on their shirts and no advertising either!

    I hope you’re feeling better soon. Like you, we’ve picked it up in the last week too and also thanking our lucky stars because we have a trip booked in July. Better to get it over and done with.

    What do you mean about Sofia, are you saying that you’re down with Covid? I do hope you’ll feel better soon. Some in my family have had it, but thankfully recovered without complications.

      Hi Sandy – yes, after two and a half years it finally caught up with me! I mentioned it in Thursday’s post but I don’t think many people have picked up on it as yet. It’s not proving a major issue apart from the cancelled trip – just rather a lot of coughing and a few cold-like symptoms. Rotten timing but it could have been worse. My nephew is getting married in two weeks’ time so hopefully I’ll be fine for that 🙂
