See how the light tenderly love the apricots, it takes them over completely, enters into their pulp, light them from all sides! But it is miserly with the peaches and light only one side of them.

It is a long while since I did a colour challenge, but I love the excuse they give me to rummage through my archives. So I’ve pulled together a selection for Terri’s Sunday Stills challenge this week.

Her chosen colour is apricot, which I found a little hard to pin down. Is it orange? Is it pink? Is it maybe peach? Wikipedia defines it as a light yellowish-orangish similar to the colour of apricots, but paler than actual apricots.

As a variation on orange, apricot has many of the same associations and qualities. It is said to symbolise positive emotions, such as elation, excitement, joy, success, inspiration, and stimulation. I hope my selection below creates similarly positive vibes. Some, I confess, have been edited to emphasise or draw out their apricot tones. But the apricots in my featured photo are real, on a stall in the Jamaa el Fna in Marrakesh.
