Souvenir seller
By the statue of Shiva near Pokhara
A statue of Shiva, the second largest in Nepal, was unveiled near Pokhara just last year. No doubt I’ll be sharing more about that in a future post. But meanwhile here’s one of my favourite images from our visit, a lady selling souvenirs next to the steep path up to the statue.
We’ll be heading back home in a couple of days, so this will be my last ‘postcard’ for now. But if you think that means it’s the last you’ll hear or see of my Nepal trip, you don’t know me very well!

A beautiful photo – her wonderfully colorful clothing and of course, the peak, so perfectly framed. I see in the comments that she was not willing, but I might have done the same in your place! Looking forward to more from Nepal.

I couldn’t resist capturing her in that spot and I suspect many other visitors will have felt the same. Most of the other sellers were in a group slightly lower down the path so she really stood out from the crowd.

Beautiful capture. An umbrella is an unlikely accessory unless it is monsoon. Can’t wait to read more of your Nepalese adventure.

Thanks Amanda π She’s using the umbrella to shade her produce from the hot sun.

Sarah, once again you’ve managed to capture a striking photo of a person(s) while traveling! The incredible landscape in the background and the woman’s colorful native dress and facial features in the foreground make it a perfectly wonderful combination!

She’s so colourful (with the snow-capped mountain in the background). Can’t wait to hear from your Nepal trip – enjoy the last few days!

Yes, the background made the shot. There were lots of women selling but she was the only one in that perfect spot π

Obliging woman then!
Sarah Wilkie
The opposite! She’d spotted earlier that I was trying to take a photo and turned away. I had to wait till she forgot about me then used the zoom from further off π
