I went window shopping today! I bought four windows.

When out with my camera I often ‘shop’ for windows, seeking out ones that might make interesting images. Whether peering through them, looking for reflections or simply enjoying the geometry of their frames, windows make great subjects for photography.
For Debbie’s One Word Sunday theme of ‘Window’ I’ve brought together photos from my recent trip to Paris which all feature one or more windows. My header photo is of modern stained glass in the Église de Saint-Christophe-de-Javel, an early 20th century church that we stumbled on quite by chance. I’ll definitely share more photos from there soon! Meanwhile, enjoy this random selection from our Paris wanderings.Â
And as Paris is definitely one of my happy places, I’m again linking to Ju-Lyn’s Happy Place Happy Space challenge.

Beautiful snapshots of Paris windows. The one of the Louvre reflected in the glass is really striking and pretty! 🙂

Very colourful ones, there, and they hold a story.
Sarah Wilkie
Thank you – and yes, so many buildings in Paris seem to carry a story 😀

Yes you have destroyed my morning with views of Paris and a deep longing arises to go once more is here. Ever so many wonderful photos Sarah. This would also have been a good post for Ludwigs Monday Windows (lol it’s Monday morning here) 🙂
Sarah Wilkie
Haha Brian, I didn’t mean to ruin your morning 😆 Glad you enjoyed the photos however, and I hope you get back to Paris one day!

It’s quite remarkable how you’ve managed to come up with such an eclectic mix of windows from your trip to Paris Sarah, but before I forget, I also really enjoy the selected quotes at the top of your posts, and today’s was a great one. Loved it.
Sarah Wilkie
Thanks so much Malcolm 🙂 I always enjoy photographing details so it’s perhaps not surprising that I had quite a few windows to choose from! I think maybe you have to be British and of a certain age to ‘get’ Tommy Cooper?
Easymalc
I guess so 🙂

Wonderful windows Sarah! My favorite is the mural.
Sarah Wilkie
Thank you Anne 🙂 I liked that mural too!

What’s not to love about Paris!!! I went to the same city for my window today! I love that art deco building – especially the railing.
Sarah Wilkie
Thank you Marie – yes, I saw your lovely (and appetising!) window 🙂 That art deco building was in an area we don’t normally frequent which had a number of such buildings. We must go back and explore further I think.
