Its thick walls with their jutting buttresses look more like a fortification than a place of worship, and its massive bulk seems completely out of proportion to the small community it was built to serve.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Margaret of <a href=\"https:\/\/margaret21.com\/2020\/12\/16\/around-the-world-in-ten-photos-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">From Pyrenees to Pennines<\/a> and Teresa of <a href=\"https:\/\/mywanderings.travel.blog\/2020\/12\/12\/travel-challenge-3-10\/comment-page-1\/#comment-5209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Camera &amp; I<\/a> have both invited me to join them and other bloggers to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then each day, nominate someone new to join in on the same terms. I don&#8217;t usually post a single photo on my blog; I like to tell a story. But for this challenge I&#8217;ll resist that temptation and instead play a guessing game with you all. It was built around 1772 and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970. It has been a source of inspiration for several artists. Georgia O\u2019Keeffe painted it several times, and Ansel Adams photographed it \u2013 brilliantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realise not everyone likes to be nominated for this sort of thing so I&#8217;m not nominating any more people.
